What you get back

What this produces — from a real 1920×960 recording

A six-second section exported from a 30-second source. The kept pixels are untouched — trimming removes time, not detail.

How It Works

How to use the free online video trimmer

01

Add your video

Drop in an MP4, MOV or WebM and it loads straight into the timeline.

02

Set in and out points

Drag the handles or type exact timecodes. The preview updates as you move them.

03

Export the section

Download just the part between your two points, with no watermark.

Trimming, cutting and splitting — what is the difference?

Trimming keeps one continuous section and discards everything before and after it. You set an in point and an out point, and what survives is the middle. It is the simplest video edit there is and by far the most common.

Cutting usually means removing a section from the middle and joining what remains, which is a different operation — you end up with one file made of two pieces. Splitting means dividing one file into several separate files at chosen points.

This tool does the first one, well. The trade it makes is deliberate: no timeline of layers, no effects, no transitions — just pick a range and export it, without opening an editor or installing anything.

Why Use This Tool

What the free online video trimmer gives you

Frame-accurate points

Drag the handles for speed, or type exact timecodes when the cut has to land precisely.

No watermark

Your export contains your footage and nothing else.

No install, no account

Open the page and trim. No download, no sign-up, no trial.

Live preview

See your selected range before you export it, so you are not guessing at the boundaries.

Quality preserved

Trimming does not rescale, so the section you keep looks exactly like the source.

Works on mobile

FAQ

Common questions

How do I trim a video without a watermark?

Use this tool — nothing is added to your export. Many free trimmers add branding; this one does not.

Does trimming reduce quality?

No. The section you keep is unchanged — trimming removes time, not detail.

What is the file size limit?

200MB per file on the free tier, one file per session.

Can I cut out a section from the middle instead?

This tool keeps one continuous range. Removing a middle section means trimming twice and joining the results.

What formats are supported?

MP4, MOV and WebM, which covers what phones, cameras and screen recorders produce.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It runs in your browser — no software, no extension.

Trimming is the easy half. Deciding where to trim is the other half.

Setting two points takes ten seconds once you know where they go. Finding them across an hour of footage is the part that takes the afternoon. ShortsHero reads the transcript and proposes the in and out points for every clip worth cutting.
