AI Podcast Intro Maker

Drop in a full episode. It pulls out the audio, transcribes every word, finds the lines that make people stay, and cuts them into a 1–2.5 minute cold open — with a sound effect on every cut so each line lands as its own moment.

How It Works

How to use the ai podcast intro maker

01

Upload the full episode

A video file or a YouTube link. The whole conversation, not a pre-cut highlight — the point is not having to find the moments yourself.

02

The best lines are picked

The audio is transcribed word by word, then every sentence is weighed for hook value: bold claims, confessions, laughs, and the question that makes a viewer need the answer.

03

Edit, then render

Reorder, trim, drop or add lines from the transcript, preview the cut instantly in the browser, and render the final MP4 when it feels right.

What is a podcast cold open?

A cold open is the rapid-fire montage at the very start of a podcast episode: eight to fifteen of the best lines from the conversation, cut back to back before the show even introduces itself. It is the single most effective retention device on long-form YouTube, because it answers the viewer's only question in the first ten seconds — is this worth an hour of my time?

Cutting one by hand is slow in a specific way. You have to rewatch the whole episode to find the lines, then trim each one so it starts on the word and ends on the thought, then order them so the strongest hook opens and the most tantalising question closes. Most editors spend longer on the first ninety seconds of an episode than on the rest of it.

This tool does that pass for you. Because it works from a word-level transcript, every cut starts and ends on a sentence boundary rather than a guess, and the sound effect and flash on each join tell the viewer plainly that the next line comes from a different moment of the conversation.

Why Use This Tool

What the ai podcast intro maker gives you

Word-level transcript

The audio is extracted and transcribed first, so every cut lands on a real sentence boundary — never half a word.

Picks lines for hook value

Claims, stories, laughs and cliffhanger questions are chosen and ordered like a trailer, not left in timeline order.

Sound effect on every cut

Whoosh, cinematic impact or glitch, plus an optional white flash — so each line reads as its own moment.

Word-by-word captions

Bold captions that light up as each word is spoken, burned into the picture.

A real editor

Reorder, trim to the quarter second, remove lines or search the transcript to add new ones — then preview instantly.

Built for long episodes

Up to four hours and 5 GB. The episode is never downloaded whole to cut from — only the seconds each clip needs.

Sound effects

Pick how each cut sounds

Every join between two lines gets the same effect, timed so it peaks exactly on the cut.

WhooshA soft air sweep that swells into the cut. The safe default for interview and conversation shows.
Cinematic impactA whoosh that lands on a deep hit. Trailer energy for high-stakes or storytelling episodes.
GlitchA short digital stutter. Suits tech, gaming and fast-paced commentary shows.
NoneStraight cuts with an optional white flash, for a cleaner documentary feel.

FAQ

Common questions

Still stuck? Email us.

How long is the intro it makes?

You choose a target between one minute and two and a half minutes. The lines are picked to land close to it, and you can add or remove lines afterwards.

How does it decide which lines are interesting?

The full episode is transcribed, then each sentence is weighed for whether it works with zero context and makes a viewer want more: bold claims, surprising numbers, emotional moments, laughs and unanswered questions. Greetings, ad reads and outros are skipped.

Why is there a sound effect between the clips?

So the viewer can tell each line comes from a different point in the conversation. Without a marker, back-to-back lines from different moments sound like one confusing sentence.

Can I change what it picked?

Yes. Reorder lines, trim either edge by a quarter second, extend a line into the next sentence, remove lines, or search the transcript and add any sentence. Preview plays instantly in the browser; render when you're happy.

What length of episode can I upload?

Up to four hours, as a file up to 5 GB or a YouTube link.

Who can use it?

The intro maker is in private beta and currently open to a small group of accounts.

The intro gets them in. The clips bring them back.

The same episode that makes your cold open holds ten or more standalone Shorts. ShortsHero finds them, reframes them to vertical with the speaker kept in frame, and captions every one.
